Psychotropical Orchestra doesn’t just play music — they ignite sensory storms. A true sonic laboratory, the collective pushes musical boundaries and transforms every performance into an immersive experience where blazing Afro-Latin grooves, tropical psychedelia, and untamed rock collide in electrifying fashion.

Formed in 2003, the group quickly made its mark with a bold fusion of Latin rhythms, afrobeat, rock, and electronic textures. Their debut album, Invasion Psychotropical (2007), received critical acclaim and propelled them onto festival stages across Quebec, Ontario, and Mexico. Two years later, Pacheco Sessions (2009) further solidified their reputation as a must-see live act before the band went on hiatus in 2010.

In 2023, the fire was reignited. Franco and Pinzón reunited the orchestra with renewed vision and amplified intensity. Self-produced, La Travesía marks their return with seven original tracks and a vibrant reimagining of the classic “La Cumbia del Robot.” The album journeys through futuristic cumbia, hypnotic dub, and atmospheric trip-hop while preserving the group’s eclectic, high-voltage spirit. The return of original drummer José Dominguez reconnects the project to its roots while propelling Psychotropical Orchestra into bold new territory.
